S3 storage for research, in Nextcloud

a GÉANT Incubator project by SUNET and SURF

PanES3 lets researchers create their own S3 storage buckets, with no tickets and no waiting. Each bucket appears automatically as a folder in Nextcloud, so data can be uploaded, shared and worked with in a familiar web interface, while scripts and tools keep using plain S3.

• One login for everything, via SURF Research Cloud and SRAM
• Storage at several European datacentres; existing buckets can be connected
• Buckets can be moved between locations, and Nextcloud keeps the same folder
• Mirrors at a second location, with earlier versions kept for backup
